Perched on Craggy Rock

PerchedAt the top of Pinnacle Trail in Berks County (part of the Appalachian Trail) a few trees remain, leafless and eerie in the fog. The sit precariously on the rocky outcropping that at times provides great views of the valley below. During the winter they are isolated, standing still, alone and quiet. The puzzling question they pose: will spring come again, or will they stay here naked, withering in the cold, taking on the rugged, jagged character of the foundation they stand on?

  1. I think this photo and text is the best yet. I like the philosophical tone, the combination of the visual and the verbal. Fabulous photo. Ed
