Frozen field

Well into the Amish countryside and quite near the Appalachian trail fields of grass roll deep into the distance. On a foggy day, the air freezes into fog and perspective is distorted. Trees line outline farm tracts and are frozen so cold they are purple with frostbite, speckled with bits of life. These are quintessential scenes of the quiet American countryside, characteristic of Pennsylvania.
